On Feb. 14 officers made a traffic stop in the 600 block of 25th Street. They located drug paraphernalia and prescription pills during the search. The investigation is ongoing. Also, that day, officers responded to an assault at the Canyon Junior High. A juvenile male was taken into custody and transported to the Youth Center of the High Plains.
On Feb. 15 a female was arrested for trespassing at Paul Lindsey Park, formerly known as Southeast Park.
A burglary of a vehicle was reported at 47 Valley View Road on Feb. 15.
Also on Feb. 15, officers stopped a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Amarillo on U.S. Highway 60. The officers found that the vehicle had been reported stolen, but the owner never called police when it was located. The officers searched the vehicle due to the smell of marijuana. A female was issued a citation for possession of marijuana, and the other female was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
On Feb. 16 officers responded to the 5700 block of 4th Avenue in reference to a male assaulting a female. The female was later arrested for assault family violence.
Officers responded to the 2100 block of 1st Avenue on Feb. 16 in reference to a noise complaint. They located four minors that were in possession of alcohol. They were issued citations.
On Feb. 18 officers responded to a minor crash in the 1500 block of U.S. Highway 60. The driver was found to be a minor and had a detectable amount of alcohol in his or her system. The driver was issued citations and released.
