On Aug. 27 officers were called to Walmart on a theft. They met with the female suspects and one was found to have outstanding warrants, and she lied about her name. She was arrested for failure to identify, warrants, and she was found to be in possession of a controlled substance (meth).
A theft of a debit card was reported Aug. 27 at Family Medicine Center.
Officers served a search warrant Aug. 27 in the 1400 block of 8th Street. The officers located evidence of the resident possessing child pornography. The resident was arrested and transported to jail. The investigation is ongoing.
A report of distribution of child pornography was made to officers Aug. 27 in the 300 block of 16th Street. The investigation is ongoing.
On Aug. 29 officers responded to several vehicle burglaries in the 2600 and 2700 blocks of 10th Avenue, and in the 2800 block of Mable, and in the 700 block of 8th and 9th Street. The suspects stole two lap tops, change and other assorted items from the vehicles. The vehicles were all left unlocked. Officers were able to recover some of the property at a hotel room in Amarillo.
A report of credit card abuse was made Aug. 29 in the 300 block of 16th Street.
A report was made Aug. 29 for simple assault that occurred at Paul Lindsey Park, formerly known as Southeast Park.
On Aug. 30 a female was reported to be assaulting a male at Walmart. The female was located and arrested for simple assault.
On Aug. 31 officers made a traffic stop at US 87 and Buffalo Stadium. The vehicle was searched and marijuana was found. The driver was issued a citation and released.
Officers made a traffic stop Aug. 31 in the 1700 block of US 87. The driver was arrested for warrants and issued a citation for driving with a suspended license.
On Sept. 1 officers made a traffic stop in the 2400 block of 4th Avenue. The driver was arrested for warrants and failing to identify.
A burglary of a habitation was reported Sept. 1 in the 1000 block of 3rd Avenue. The resident reported several handguns and rifles were stolen from the residence. The investigation is ongoing.
There were four reportable crashes during the week. The crashes were due to failure to yield right of way turning and speed.
