Weekly CPD report


There have been recent reports of political signs being stolen from citizens’ front yards. Please contact Canyon Police if you have any information about the signs, or if you locate any of these signs that have been abandoned.

On Sept. 10 a simple assault was reported in the 1600 block of Highway 60.

On Sept. 11 officers responded to Chicken Express on a theft of cash.

On Sept. 15 officers arrested a male for warrants in the 2100 block of 8th Avenue.

On Sept. 16 officers responded to the 2400 block of 11th Avenue on an assault. A male was arrested for assaulting a male and a female.

Also on Sept. 16 a burglary of a vehicle was reported in the 200 block of 4th avenue. The suspect took a purse from the unlocked vehicle.

There were seven reportable crashes this week. The crashes were due to: Backing without safety, speed, failure to yield right of way, use of cell phone, and failing to drive in a single lane.
